  Harvest has finally started and the busy time here at St. Ansgar Mills is upon us. As farmers wrap up silage and earlage if you would like us to send in a sample and adjust rations for you just let us know. The last few weeks soybean meal has been a challenge to source as harvest has been delayed, with harvest starting I anticipate those challenges will ease up. The early reports I have been getting on corn is that so far, our area has avoided some of the quality issues a lot of other areas of the state are encountering. As always corn quality going to the feed mill is a high priority for us and if we encounter any quality issues, we will be sure that corn stays out of our mill bins. 

Employee Spotlight – Suzi Fredricks

Some of you that have been in the mill have met Suzi and some of you have spoken to her on the phone. We hired her in August to help manage the daily operation of the feed mill and are glad to have her on the team. Suzi grew up on a cow/calf operation in southern Iowa and was active showing multiple species of livestock. Suzi served on the youth board of the Iowa Swine Jackpot Series for 2 years. She graduated from Northwest Missouri State in May with a bachelors degree in Animal Science and a minor in Ag Business and was previously employed at another feed mill in Iowa.
